Hello ladies and gents! I'm awake and up... well... sorta. I'm awake. I'm not really up and motoring, but I have eaten breakfast and I am drinking my coffee. But I just feel outta it. I'm just overly tired. I got a burst of energy last night and picked up and sorted all of the toys and then ran the vacuum. That was after I had already picked up around the back of the house some, cleaned the kitchen, and made dinner. Then after that, I gave younger a bath and a snack before I put him to bed. If you can believe it, he slept until 5 before he woke up. FIVE!!! I am going to give that try again tonight. I was reading an article about how to get better sleep and it said to have a healthy carb snack before bed that would release seratonin(sp?) which in turn boosts melatonin. So, I tried banana. He LOVES banana and I thought it would be a good option for a late night snack. If it works again tonight, we may have a new routine! Maybe doing this will help to train his body to sleep at night. I don't even care if he cuts back on his daytime nap at this point.
I think I'm noticing a good trend on 3FC lately. Seems like more and more people are doing the healthy way of weight loss (slow and steady) instead of crash dieting. Now, granted, I'm somewhat sticking to my old and familiar blogs, so I'm not sure about newbies. But I can see that within the ones that I keep up with and the few I've picked up it seems like we are all on the same track of doing good ol' dieting and exercise. Good to see! Just wish more people were that way. I tell people what I'm doing (1600 cals per day) and some people seem surprised... like I should be doing less. I don't wanna so I'm not gonna. 1600 is pretty darn realistic and easy. So, going to stick with it. May take me longer, but I'm training. Just like with a marathon. You run and run and run to get your body conditioned to a certain level of physical activity. I'm eating the same cals. day after day with a variety of foods to train my body to get use to eating and using a certain level of calories. I may not always be at exactly 1600, but I'm close. I've had busy days at 1400 and foodie days at closer to 1800. But I think that is ok, too. I'm close and that's what I'm heading for... a good steady average. I feel like by doing this once I reach my goal, this will be such the norm that I will do it automatically.
Oh! And my weight was 193.5 again today. :) I kinda expected lower since I kept going potty non-stop yesterday. But I'll take it. Even if I don't see anything go down between now and Sunday, that would be another pound for this week. And considering my sleep schedule, well, I think that will be just fine! Oh, and speaking of sleep, my Mom made a suggestion to me last night because she has a hard time drifting to sleep just like I do. I do all the lists and things, but that never seems to help me anymore. So, I'm thinking that I should give it a go with some of my own twists. She says what she does is she lays on the couch when she first starts to feel tired but AFTER she has gotten ready for bed. I have never been one to do that because I hate sleeping on the couch. But she says usually what happens is she drifts off for a bit and then when she wakes up she turns the TV off and gets into bed and falls right to sleep. I'm thinking this may work... So, what I plan on doing is getting everything ready early and then laying down on the couch. Then seeing if I can drift off. The hardest thing will be shutting down the pute. That tends to be when I do a lot of reading and whatnot, so it will be hard to just switch off. But I know I need to do it or I'm going to continue to feel like crap and it's going to keep slowing me down. I am hoping I can do it early enough that even if younger gets up, I can still get some sleep. I may even have to turn my phone off!
Well, I guess that is all that is going on my way. For once, drama is on the low end and I'm not feeling overwhelmed with family drama. I guess that's the way it goes when you stay away from people! LOL Not that we're avoiding anyone, we just aren't allowing ourselves to be pulled into other people's mess right now. Kinda nice! ;) Ok, off of here for now! Take care ladies!
Hi jewlz! I am also in for the long run, with healthy eating and exercising, and trying to curb emotional eating. Glad to see you discover a trend here... Fast diets are not "educational" for people with food issues, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteAs to sleeping and young babies, I have noticed that TV plays against good sleep. I find it hard to turn it off, but I lower the volume and read till I drift off far enough to drop the book and turn of the TV. Keep going!
Ugh don't get me started on fast diets! I posted a blog a while back that focused on "cleansing" and "detox" I think it's a load of bull! That is what your liver and kidneys do naturally! They are our built in cleansing an detox system. All that aside, they are also not sustainable. Slow is the only way to premanemt weightloss,in my opinion! Keep up the good work. I hope this
ReplyDeleteNew bedtime routine works!
hey! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's good to hear that your out of the family drama thing! :D I remember back a few months ago, there so so much going on in your family. I'm glad you got some peace and quite for a while! :D
As for the trend on the 3FC, I haven't been very active in reading a lot of people's blog lately, but I'm really glad to hear there has been changes! :)
Also, you made me chuckle when you said this "I don’t wanna so I’m not gonna." haha! :D
