Heh. I'm doing pretty good at keeping up with posting at least once a day, but I missed yesterday. Was just TOO darn busy and then... too tired! I spent my morning getting the kiddos settled and then grooming both of my dogs. That WORE ME OUT! This was the first time I had really shaved/clipped them, and boy, I tell ya: Groomers are worth their money, for sure! It took me 3hrs. to do both dogs. I was covered in hair and exhausted by the time I got done. And my female, well, she fought getting her feet cleaned like someone was killing her! Not sure what that was about, but it's done for now. And then before I absolutely crashed, I got my floors vacuumed and cleaned. No more mud on my floor! It wasn't a 'deep' clean, but I will do that soon enough when we knock out a few more projects. For now, I am just trying to get in the habit of doing a wet clean whenever I can. And I already vacuum about twice a day! :O Hopefully clipping the dogs will help some with that.
The rest of the afternoon, I just kinda hung out with the baby. My oldest played in his playroom and the hubbs worked on the front door and our foyer. It was nice to get some decisions made and do some work. I know he didn't feel like he did much, but he did! He got all the top steps braced (they were squeaking like crazy), all the treads trimmed, the door straightened, and we decided on the front door trim. Now, just to get some more things done when we can next week. I think while he is doing that, I am going to try to get a few things done around here during nap times. Probably won't be much, but I'm going to try! Mostly odds and ends. Just whatever I can. I use to not want to do that because I felt like my hubby -- that I got no where. Not anymore. All that little stuff adds up! Even if all I do is sand one thing, or patch one thing, or paint one corner. It all adds up!
Not sure that I will get to anything today... the house is sorta wrecked. Not sure how it got this way, either! I thought we had done a really good job at staying on top of it until I got up this AM and looked around. UGH. A mess. Sink full of dishes, beds need stripping, dust is piled up, bathroom needs a wipe down, and the downstairs.... OY. We WILL NOT go there. It's just a disaster! Not sure if I will get to that today. But the other stuff needs to get done. Going to go strip the bedrooms first -- and get them to washing. The washing is what takes forever. The hubby will be late getting home tonight, so I hope to get most of it done today. But that really depends on the kids. LOL
I say that, because as we speak, one is whining in the floor and the other is at quiet time in his room. The oldest is at quiet time because he's been aggressive the last two days with the baby. Not in a 'mean' way. Just, playing too darn rough! I think because the youngest is 'bigger' than the babies he's seen (he has walked and moved around early), he thinks he can wrestle and rough-house with him and he just can't. So, this AM, he was wrestling and grabbed the baby pulling him back. Well, he's learning to walk so he had a grip on the side table. When he pulled youngest back, EVERYTHING hit the floor! Oldest, youngest, table and all the stuff on it! So, it's already been an interesting morning to say the least. Although, he just came out and asked me if he could apologize. Oldest really is a great boy. He tests my patience at times, but really, he is a great kid. I feel so blessed to have both of my kiddos. And I feel like I must be doing something OK if he came and asked to apologize. :)
OK now, on to the weight stuff. Weighed in at 204.5 this AM. Not worried, though! Yesterday was a crazy busy day and well, I was starving all day so my cals AND carbs were higher than normal. I feel bad about the carbs seeing as how yesterday was day 28 and really the first time I had gone over 40 by a large amount. I think I was at 52? Would have to check again... But you know, I was busy so I'm not going to beat myself up. I didn't eat junk or over-eat, so there it is! AND, I did have a pretty high amount of salt. So, just going to keep doing what I am doing and hopefully flush myself out. I just will have to accept that on days when I am doing a lot, I will have to eat more. I'd rather eat more and maybe slow down a bit than to feel like poo all day because I'm hungry!
I finally tried another Greek yogurt yesterday. I had tried one brand, and OH MY I did NOT like it! I think it was something with an O, but can't remember... Anyways, I got the Fage this time and I really like it! It's somewhere in between yogurt, ricotta, and sour cream. I got mine plain, but I think that flavoring it would be fantastic! I think either later today or tomorrow, I am going to try using SF syrup and nuts with some fresh berries. I usually use whipped cream, but this stuff seems really versatile so I want to try some new stuff with it. Along with that, I bought coconut milk. I am not really a fan of coconut. I'm not sure why, but I've just never really loved the stuff. I like the taste, but not the texture! So, going to give this milk a try and see how it goes. I've been using organic milk for the kiddos, and we buy a gallon of regular milk for the rest of us, but I only use a bit in my cappuccino. Other than that, I use almond milk. And I am really thinking of switching fully to almond milk and coconut milk. Mostly because real milk is full of sugar. 12g of carbs for 8oz! But since I don't use much, I just add it in to my day and don't really think about it. But if I used the almond milk or coconut milk for my coffee and left the rest of the regular milk for the hubbs and recipes, I think it would somewhat help out in the carbs and grocery dept. I wouldn't need to buy a whole gallon anymore -- just a half! I guess we will see. I know I like the almond milk, so we will just have to see on the coconut.
Well, I think I've yabbered enough for today and need to get up from here and get going. I am at my best around lunchtime, so I want to get up from here and get rolling so that I can get as much done as I can. Little one will be going down for a nap soon, so I need to hit his room first! Have a good day chickies!
Wowsers you had a packed day! :) Best of luck today. I have so much respect for people with kids and a household to run!!
ReplyDeleteYeah... other than the dog clipping, the rest is a normal day! LOL We've been remodeling this older house for a couple of years now and I feel like all our free time is wrapped up in it. I hope we finish it soon. We're more than 8mos. behind schedule right now! It was suppose to be done last Fall. Now we hope to finish by this Fall. LOL
