That seems to be the question of the day.... What to do, what to do? Yesterday, I ended up doing more housework. The hubbs did indeed take oldest to the movies and I stayed home. But for the most part, I felt lazy. I organized the deep freezer a bit more, washed dishes, threw in some laundry... Nothing big. I never started a project. I just wasn't sure where to start! Mostly because this is one project where I am unsure of what the final result will be and I'm afraid I will mess it up. I know that's silly -- it's just stairs! But for some reason I can't seem to get going on it like I have other things. I am glad to say I finally trimmed up oldest's hair! LOL About time, I guess!
Weighed in this AM at 199. Pleased still! I honestly thought it would be up a bit since I allowed myself some ice cream (no sugar) and one serving of vanilla cookies since it was Sunday. I was happy it wasn't up! I've missed having that one day a week to look forward to a treat. I think I am going to go back to that. I don't know why I quit other than maybe I went overboard or I was doing the cycling. I think it was the cycling. I think I will have that one day a week again where I will allow myself the treat. I didn't do my shake yesterday... I ate leftovers instead. I hate to waste food! But I will be having a shake today. Wonder what flavor I should do? Maybe a strawberry and cream one... YUM. I'll make it with Kale since I had a nice big spinach salad for dinner last night. It was SO good! My fave balsamic (home-made), apple slices, pecans, and goat cheese with a side of super tender roast beef. YUM. It was a great dinner. I have some of the beef leftover, so I will be making some BBQ with that later and freezing the juices that were leftover. That way I have a base for stew/soup later. Told you I hate to waste! LOL I need to buy a couple of new containers that are better at freezing. I know some people use bags, but I've not a huge fan of regular plastic bags. They seem to tear/leak too easily and are hard to rewarm without tearing the whole thing off! I am thinking of getting some of those twist and seal Ziploc freezer containers. I have regular ones for regular food and everyday use, but not sure how they would do in the freezer. The twist and seal seem as if they would be a good fit... May do some more research on it. I know that I also would like to freeze some salsa. Although, I wonder if it would be better to can it than freeze it? I canned a bunch of tomatoes last year and they did well. Now, if only the tomatoes on my plants would hurry up and ripen! LOL
OH! I just remembered I forgot to do any measurements... not that I really expect any change. Probably went up slightly. UGH. But I guess I will do that in the AM. I also need to try my bridesmaids dress again to see how that is going. Like I said before, I could get it on, but it was TIGHT. I also need to go this week and either get it altered, or see about using the hem tape. If I can hem tape it, I'm going to so that I have the option of selling it unaltered after the wedding. I saw them selling on ebay for around $80. So, I think I will list it on Craigslist for that. Or maybe I will list it for $100 and put on the option to make an offer.... I may sell a couple of other gowns I have that I have held on to and no longer have the room for. Funny how you think you will re-use those things and never do. I wish I did... some of them are really nice! But unfortunately now that the hubbs is out of the Navy, we have no balls or formal events to attend where I would need a gown. I am hoping to sell it for someone to use for a wedding or homecoming or even prom. I plan on getting them and some other things from my Mom's house the next time I go down to visit. They have this cool fold out chair that I think Riley would love to have. I'm going to recover it with some new fabric to make it more boy appropriate. Well, that is if we can get his room re-organized to have more room.
Really thinking an Ikea bedroom for him would be our best option. We could probably re-do his whole room for $500. The more I've thought about the futon, the more I've decided that wouldn't work. Mostly because I want to keep it downstairs for our 'guestroom' and 'office'. I REALLY want a workout room that's usable. It's not now! Now that the garage is well on it's way to being organized, I'd really like to get all the workout stuff out there and be able to use that space. The only way we can have the spare room be both guest and office room is to keep that futon and move the workout stuff to the garage. SO, we need more storage and space in oldest's room... the best option it seems is to get the Ikea storage system. I'm going to keep thinking on it, though. I just can't wait to have a workout room!!! I can't wait to have this house done. *sigh*
Well, think I am finally going to tie this up. The last thing I wanted to say is that I am thinking of moving this blog to another site. I opened one recently on Tumblr, but I have yet to really use it. I'm just not sure that 3FC is the right home for me anymore. I tend to write about all kinds of things on here, and I'm worried that at some point someone may have an issue with it because it isn't all 'diet related'. I know several people on here have done that. Are you happy with the decision to have two or would you rather just do one? I just don't know anymore. Guess that's another thing to think on! LOL
I love the community I found in 3fc, but I am happy with my decision to move my blog somewhere else.
ReplyDeleteYou should move to blogger.com :) lol
Heck I have 3 blogs (for hiking, food blog, and weightloss)circling around -- it's damn therapeutic I love it.
I keep coming back to 3fc. Life is about weight loss.
ReplyDeleteOnce school begins I'll be posting pretty much on blogger, and will most likely use this one to track weight loss. I'm running outta things to say about my weight, but this is a great community and I don't want to leave it completely. Let us know if you decide to move to another and give us the link so we can keep up with ya.
ReplyDeleteEllie
Haha :) I just want to say thank you again for your kind words. I'm gonna get back my feet! :D
ReplyDeleteInteresting question, I was also thinking of the same thing. I thought about making a blog for my academic side and one for losing weight. However, what I eventually realize was that... 3FC means more than "just" losing weight, instead, it's all about keeping a healthy living style. ANd.. from my opinion, when you are posting about your life, you are in a way posting about your "living style". And of course, somewhere in between when you typing about your day, you are going to do some reflecting on your life.. and the way you live. So, in a way, I feel its all interconnect. Your weight is dependent on your living style, and when you post something on 3fc, the community helps reminds you to live a healthy lifestyle. Thus, I think it's perfectly fine for you to post about your life here. I actually welcome it! :) And i'm sure a lot of other people will too.
ReplyDeleteAnd from my own experience, I realize my academic side is very interconnected to my health and the way that i live, which in turn affects my weight. So, I just decide to stay on 3FC.
And.. in the end, I think you have definitely develop a group of friends who are likeminded individuals who can relate to you on here. So why leave? :)
