Where to start?

I guess at the most important as far as this blog is concerned.  My weight is still 191.5 this AM and that alone is a MIRACLE.  We drove over 4hrs. to go get a car, were there for 2 or 3hrs., and then drove back.  We didn't eat great, either.  Not even close!  Although, I guess my breakfast was small and my dinner was good.  Nothing else really was!  LOL  I totally expected to see a gain this AM.  So, imagine my shock.  And it was shock!  But happy at the same time.  I tried and well, I guess for yesterday that was enough.

We did NOT buy the car btw.  It was damaged and they didn't disclose it before we got there.  AND, they gave us crap on our trade-in saying that due to a chip in the windshield (that we were told by two glass companies was too tiny to fix) and some hail damage (that we disclosed to them over the phone), they would only give us $1800.  No, there is not a zero missing!  THEN, when they finally let us look over their car, when we pointed out the same issues they tried to say that since their car was newer it didn't affect it the same.  I called BS and said that because it was a newer car AND a less popular one, it would cost us twice as much to have those issues repaired.  An example is our vehicle's windshield would be about $200.  The new ones would be around $500!  AND their crack was through the glass AND in the line of site.  At that point he said his manager was pulling the deal.  We said what deal?  We never made a definite deal.  There was an offer, but no deal???  And then we proceeded to tell him we understood why he was pulling the offer -- because he knew at this point that we weren't suckers and just going to take the car in the shape it was.  And yes, we said that.  I also said, you know, just because we drove all this way doesn't mean we are required to buy one.  And if you thought you were going to sucker us because of that, you are sadly mistaken.  Hopefully no other sucker comes in here and pays that price for a car that is worth thousands less.

So, we got home late and today we are all run down.  My oldest is tired and cranky (I think it's more just wanting to be here with us), youngest has some weird rash, and well we are tired.  But we have decided to just do a few things here, return some phone calls, and check on having our truck looked over.  I think we are just going to keep it for a while longer and wait until the perfect car comes along.  I refuse to settle or to get something just cause it's a good deal.  So, we need to get our truck up and running as best we can.  Might as well put in a bit of money and be happy with it while we have it.  And then when we go to trade it in the future, hopefully they will still give us a decent price.  But that $1800 was a JOKE.  All the other dealerships we had stopped into had offered $4000.  I understand that it is like, 9yrs. old, but dude, it's got super low mileage and in decent shape other than the few issues that we have taken care of and then a few that we are going to take care of now.  None of which have turned out to be major.  We are going to take it to a place locally to go over it with a fine tooth comb just to be safe.  Then we plan on doing a few cosmetic things just to make me happier while we still have it.  It would probably help on trade in the future, too.  Just a dent place to pop out some of the hail damage (if they can for a reasonable price), and it needs a really good deep detailing, plus I bought this stuff to 'restore' the black trim to dark black... it's starting to lighten which is normal for this trim and age.  It already has new tires and we tinted the front windows.  And, we cleaned it pretty darn well before the trip on the inside.  I think if they can pop out some of the dents from the hail and give it a good buff and wax, I think I can be happy with it for a while.  Especially if mechanically speaking it ends up being ok.

So, it's just pure craziness around here.  I'm trying on my food and trying to stay busy but I'm starting to feel fried and like I just need a day to be still.  I may try to do that tomorrow.  I would love to today, but I just don't see it happening.  UGH.  OK, going to get off of here and stop whining.  I need to drink more coffee, get youngest a bath, and see where the day goes.  Hope you chicks out there are being successful.  :)

  1. I'm so glad for you that the circumstances of your day didn't adversely affect your weigh in! Sometimes you just have to eat what's there.

Good deal on not being pushed into making a deal just because you drove all that way! Buying cars is scary!
