I am thinking it is going to be a busy day today. But man, am I tired! I went to bed around midnight and didn't get up until 8 with little guy, but I STILL feel very tired! I haven't had breakfast or coffee, yet, though. But I don't usually have it as soon as I get up. I try to get some water in, first. Especially on a day like today where I am going to be busy. I need to for sure go to the store and start laundry. I really should try to mow at some time, but I just don't know if I will have time today. Maybe when the hubby gets home, I can at least zoom through the front yard and then maybe tomorrow the back. Then we'll just have the weeding and trimming to do. I dread the store with two kids, but I would rather go and get done than wait until the hubby is home to do it. I'd rather just get it over with and then maybe get caught back up on things that need to be done. I know it won't happen in one day, but every little bit will help. This weekend just threw everything off. My poor hubby looks exhausted. He never once complained because, well, nothing could be done about what happened, but he just looked SO tired. So, if I can get some things done today and relieve some stress, that's what I am going to try to do.
Diet yesterday was pretty good. I had my breakfast as I mentioned, a protein shake, and then a good dinner. For my late snack I had some PB. I love PB and I don't even need to eat it on anything! LOL So, it's a good, easy snack for me. You just have to use a measuring spoon to eat it so you don't overdo it. I did feel a bit bloaty all day yesterday... so plenty of water for today. Hopefully I will feel a bit better as the day goes on -- I hate this sluggish feeling and feeling swollen. Probably from stress, a day of not great eating, and travel. I just don't really travel well! I love to travel, but it takes a toll on my body for some reason. Which makes me not want to do anything, but I need to anyways.
Exercise was nada unless you count the walking I did while shopping. We decided to buy a pool this year because the one from last year had a hole. So, we got one from Target. Nothing big, mind you. Just something the kiddos can splash around in this summer when we don't go to the big pool. So, we walked around Wally and Target to get that, some things for the kiddos, and I got a new plant. It's called a Hoya, or rope, plant. I LOVE it! I want to hang it in my kitchen window. Such a neat looking thing! I never use to be that into plants, but in the last couple of years I've gotten to where I like them more and more. I am kinda excited about planting a bunch this Fall. I am taking some of the plants that my Granny had in her yard. A couple of rose bushes, iris', and then hostas that were in my bro's yard. He is planning on selling his house and I think that they guy that wants to buy it (a neighbor) will end up just tearing it down. It's an old house and very small, so that would probably be easier than trying to repair it at this point. A few years ago, I would've been interested in buying it and turning it into an investment property. But not anymore. The repairs now exceed the value of the house. But the good thing is, I will hopefully be able to save some of the plants. If not, well, so be it.
So, that's it for me for the last couple of days. Hopefully I can have a good rest of the week and get some things caught up. I am thinking of staying low until the 15th which will start my hubby's long week off. During those nearly two weeks, I am thinking I will have only one moderate to high day -- my son's b-day! Because I KNOW there will be a cake or some other sweet involved. Since we did Disney this year, we are not doing a big party. We are just going to go to the pool, go to his fave restaurant, and then come back here for some cake and presents. We may not do cake -- maybe just cupcakes. We will see. Thinking of doing Mickey or pirates since that has been what vacay was all about! I think Mickey would be cute and easy. Especially with cupcakes! I could either do individuals with the black icing and the mini-Oreos for ears or I could do a cupcake cake shaped like Mickey's head. Either are pretty easy! OR, I could do white cupcakes with red and black sprinkles.... I bought a Mickey key ring that is just the outside shape... I could easily use that to put the sprinkles on in the shape of Mickey! Either way, thinking cupcakes are the way to go. And since we are only inviting immediate family, I won't have to make a ton. Probably just one dozen. Then I won't be tempted to eat them so they aren't wasted. Yay!
Well, I guess I have rambled on long enough. I need to go and make my shake and get oldest to eat. He's not been up too long and he wouldn't have gotten up THEN if i hadn't woke him up! LOL But he needs to get on a better schedule. School will be here before we know it and I don't want the transition to be too hard. But I haven't been strict since we JUST got back. But I do want to start winding him down to a bit earlier bedtime by getting him up a bit earlier. But now, now he needs to EAT. Take care chickies! Until next time. :)
A Mickey cupcakes sound cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the PB. I often have a tablespoon of it, straight up, as a snack.
Nice job on the diet! You sound jam packed busy! Protein shakes are great. I love how easy they are. I don't have to think about what to make for breakfast. I use Herbalife ones. They are good and filling. I think I am goign to take your advice and buy a scale! Thanks! Good luck with your son's bday and baking!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment on my pics, it sounds like you are running non-stop lately! I hope the birthday party goes well and that you are able to resist the treats! Good luck!
