FU Daylight Savings Time!

I really do hate this so called Daylight Savings Time.  It saves me nothing and is just a bunch of hassle.  BLEH.  And my kiddos didn't even sleep in.  As a matter-of-fact, they got up even earlier than normal!  Instead of 8:30 or 9, they got up at the old time of 7:45.  AARGH.  Even though they went to bed a bit later.  Yup.  I hate DST.  Never does anything good for us.

Anyways, I think we are starting to mend up here just in time to go and get flu shots/mist.  I hate to do it since there is a chance we could get sick again, but I am hoping that by getting it, we reduce our illness rate.  Because at this point, it feels like we've been sick one after the other since September.  I can't handle this ALL Winter.  UGH.  So, it's the shots for us.  I am going to try to go tomorrow if I can (Monday) and then take the boys as I can.  Hopefully my youngest can go early this week and my oldest later in the week.  Although youngest is snotty right now.  Either way, I'm going to try to go and get my shot and the boys theirs soon.  Hubby better get his shit in gear and get his, too.

My weight this AM is 187.5.  I expected that.  We had a friend over last night and there was good food and beer.  The food really was good -- chicken and yummy salad.  But the beer was the not so good, good.  LOL  I don't drink often, though, so it was worth it.  I think about drinking, but I just never do it.  I'm not sure why, but I just don't seem to ever have the drive, energy, whatever for it.  I guess it's one of those things where it sounds fun, but the reality usually isn't as good!  Well, not the way most people want to drink.  I like to just have a couple and relax.  I don't need that college crap and to get slammed.  I just have one or two every few months and I'm good.  Most of our friends are like that now, though.  We have a few drinks, relax, talk, and have fun.  I'm glad I'm past that age of getting wasted.  I never really enjoyed that and never understood why others enjoyed it.  Seems like it would be more fun to have some and relax and not wake up feeling like trash the next AM!  The key is hydration, of course.  And you do have to accept a slight weight gain when you drink.  Maybe that's another reason I don't much.  LOL

Anyways, I'm cool with the 187.5 because I'm sure it's mostly bloat and gas.  I haven't been eating 100% or working out either, so I deserve that number.  I keep trying to find the time and energy, but then I find just as many excuses.  And that's what they are, excuses!  I have started doing a bit of Pilates, but only one move.  I am going to do the full round today before I go down to work some more in the garage.  I spent all of yesterday afternoon down there working on cleaning up, making a list of small projects, and doing laundry.  The kiddos were playing in the driveway and in the backyard then went over to the neighbors.  So, I stayed pretty busy for a few hours.  My plan is to do more of that today.  The garage is in such poor shape currently, it takes forever to do projects simply because we cannot find anything!  So, doing that one corner really made a huge difference.  I hope to finish up that area (I only have to move a few more things!  WOOT!), and then I want to do some in the laundry area.  I plan on deciding where to put a couple of cabinets and then it's on to the center area.  I need to make some decisions about where to put my exercise equipment more than anything.  My parents have decided they want a different exercise bike, so the one in my garage is now mine.  Which is fine.  I like it!  I just need to figure out how to put that stuff in there and still have room for my car during bad weather.  There's no where else to put it.  I had thought of putting it back in the play room, but the kids climb on it and it's just not safe.  I just don't know where to put it right now that it won't be in the way.  I have thought of moving the car/house stuff to the middle and the exercise stuff to the left wall.  We've moved almost all of the gardening/yard stuff outside and have much more room than we did, but we are still cramped.  For a long time, we had ideas of putting in a laundry shoot, but I am starting to think that the space we would save by not having one would be better.  That, or we need to move our machines around.  UGH.  We also need to finish the ceiling.  We still have SO much to get done... UGH UGH UGH!

Well, I guess I'm not going to get anything done sitting here and going on and on.  I need to get to work on something and make some progress one way or the other.  I also need to trim my nails down -- they are crazy long and I tore one off badly yesterday.  I meant to cut them before now!  They just grow like WEEDS.  LOL  Ok, off I go to work out, get to work, and hopefully not go nuts!

  1. I didn't sleep in today either. If anything, I woke up around the same time and went for a run.

Good luck tackling everything and keeping the family healthy!
