203! YOWSA! I saw 202.5 first, then 203. REALLY starting to think that changing up my food but still remaining under 40g was the ticket. But I have also been sorta eating dinner earlier, too. Then having dessert at the time I would normally eat dinner. Dessert has been a big bowl of ice cream with cinnamon and caramel sauce. YUM. Now, keep in mind. This is Sugar Free Breyer's ice cream, cinnamon is fine of course, and then diabetic caramel sauce. That's made with sugar alcohols, so I only have 1TBSP. I don't eat it all the time, but it's been part of the changes I did and apparently my body likes it! I mean, that's a good amount of drop in just a couple of days. I am hoping to be down 3 or 4 this week which would be nice after so little loss over the last two. Then even 1lb. losses after that would be decent. I really hope for a bit more, like 2lbs., but I won't die with 1. So, overall, feeling pretty good!
It's been a busy few days for sure! My oldest had swim today and that went really, REALLY well! I never thought I'd see the day that he just jumped in. But he did with the swim instructor! I think he was just ready this time. We finally decided on trim for the front of the house, my hubby got some errands run, I got the yard mowed, I did BIG grocery shopping again (good sales), we even got some computer stuff done AND got to call about our meat. :D More on that in a sec! Anyways, even though it kinda feels like we didn't get much done, we really did! But now storms have rolled in, so we're going to be at a standstill for a while until that passes. And then tomorrow, well, it may be wet out. Which is fine -- we have tons of other stuff we can work on besides the yard stuff. Like, finishing the front door and the new foyer railing and the foyer in general.
Now, on to MEAT! Being a low carber, we eat lots and LOTS of meat! So, I like to eat meat where the animals have been treated well, but haven't been treated to lots of hormones and chemicals. So, starting this year, we've decided to start buying meat in bulk from local farmers. Specifically, all natural, grass-fed beef. I am REALLY excited! Because buying meat this way is not only cheaper (MUCH CHEAPER!) for us, but it is also kinder to the animals and the environment. Right now, the company we are most interested in is right down the road for us. LOL Company! I guess I should call it FARM! So it will be great for us if it works out. We checked out another place, but haven't heard back and many other places are a drive. I'd prefer to stay local if at all possible. With the price of groceries going up, I'd like to try to shop and buy local as much as I can to keep costs down. At at all meat ranging from $3.75/lb. when you buy a half, that's darn tootin' good! That includes ground beef, roast, steaks, etc. Could you imagine paying $3.75/lb. for filet??? Heck, even ground beef at this point? Yeah. That's a good deal! We'll get around 150lbs. of beef for that and my parents are going to take 50 of it. That's 100lbs. of yummy beef in my freezer! All vacuum sealed and ready to be my healthy dinner. Now we just need to find somewhere that does pork and chicken. We thought we had that with the other place, but if they never return your calls, well, guess they don't need your business. But we'll keep looking. We're in a great middle location to get that kind of stuff. :D
WOW. It's almost 7! We're having a Mexican style dinner. SO glad I bought avocados! Thinking about making some roasted squash, too. Love that stuff. Will just have to see... Other than that, just going to take it easy for the rest of the evening and maybe cuddle with the hubbs. Yeah.... I'm in a MUCH better mood! ;)
Congratulations on the scale moving in the right direction! I know you've been waiting for this a long time. Your hard work is paying off.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting to be buying meat that's both economically friendly and environmentally friendly! I hope one day I have a 2nd freezer for me to do JUST that :)
Awesome girl! You know sometimes our bodies do that to us, no loss forever and then BAM huge numbers up there. Kudos to you for sticking it out!
ReplyDeleteYou are so so lucky to live where you can find local farmers to get meat from....... it realy tastes so much better. I only have that treat when I go to P.A. to visit my Dad!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with what you posted. It sounds like WLS isn't really a real solution at all.
