I am feeling a smallish bit better.  I should since it's been oh... I think 6 days since I posted?  Yeah... I've really been sick that long!  :O  I HATE being sick.  I loathe it.  And I'm not a good sick person.  NOT.  Anyways, even sick I got out there and worked my hiney off with the hubby trying to finish the painting and the carport.  However, between me being sick, a sudden change in weather, and just flat out not enough time, we didn't finish.  3/4 of the house is painted and all but one section is repaired (in the stucco/concrete).  Only one spot I did hasn't held, and I will re-do it whenever it is warm enough.  I think hubby went a bit overboard on the primer there... Anyways, over half of the carport is up.  In other words, the ledger, the header, the outside headers, and the joists.  All that is left to install is the purlins and the Ondura.  We would've gotten that done, but we needed to finish the paint above that first.  Mostly the trim on the windows.  But the weather has not been friendly to paint.  UGH.  But I am hoping that later today it will be warm enough and we can finish that.  Then hopefully at some point get the purlins and the Ondura up.  Even if paint isn't finished, that is fine.  But the carport needs to be done.  We decided to hold off on doing the dog run until next time with me sick.  The cleanup went really well, too!  We got that huge pile in the side yard cleaned up, the pieces out of the wooded area are gone, and the pile next to the shed is gone, too.  We have a few more random pieces to pick up today and the hubby wants to finish cleaning out some things in the garage and then the dumpster goes back.  I'm glad we got it -- it was much easier than trying to haul it all ourselves.  So, even sick I have been really really busy.

On the sick front, I am not sure what is going on.  I've been sick for what feels like forever and I am just over it.  I think my cold turned into a sinus infection.  I ran a low grade fever for a few evenings, but it was very low so I didn't worry.  But then my face started hurting and I realized I should probably go to the Doc.  But then I read online about using salt water (saline) to flush your sinus cavities to stop and help prevent infections.  So, I did that and saw a huge improvement in one night!  I did it again last night and again, better this AM.  So, I am hoping that I am finally starting to kick this without having to go to the Doc.  I don't hate going... I would just prefer to take care of it on my own if possible.  Mostly because Doc's are expensive and many times, the natural methods are just as effective.  But I will go if I run a fever again.  I don't want to be silly about it.  But so far, two days in a row I've seen a great amount of improvement just from flushing them out with the saline.  I have a friend who uses a netipot for this reason.  I just hope that it was enough and I am on the road to recovery.  This last week has been a misery.

My weight has stayed about the same.  I got back down to 183.5, but the last time I checked I was 186.5.  But... I've been sick, working a lot, AND I should start my cycle in a day or two.  So, I'm feeling pretty good about that number.  I really do wish I could work out right now, but I just haven't been able to and that is frustrating to say the least.  I know I'd be in the 170's right now if it weren't for being sick and injured.  And speaking of injured, my hip is finally feeling like it is on the mend.  I can actually sit on it without feeling like I am going to die from pain!  YAY!  And the bruise is actually nearly gone.  :)  So, I'm pleased about that, too!

Overall, I guess I'm pretty happy with how things are going.  I hate the sickness and injury and such, but it could be much worse so I'm trying not to focus on that and just focus on the good.  I know my food intake could be a bit better so I am going to try to do even better on that.  Especially since hubby broke down and went to the store since I wasn't up to doing it.  He is such a good hubby most days!  LOL  So, we have fresh food once again and I am not living off of crackers and noodles.  He did a great job of getting things, using coups, and not going over our budget.  Now if I could only taste things, that would be great.  HA.  No joke -- I have no taste or smell to speak of right now.  I can barely smell my coffee and that is driving me nuts.  Although after lots of blowing, I just leaned over and I can smell my baby boy's hair.  :)  Ahhhh... it's the little things!

Well, I guess that is all for now.  I was going to talk about more projects and the holidays and whatnot, but now I am thinking this is long enough.  So... off I go to try to get the rest of the way awake, do some housework, and maybe work outside later if I can.  PLUS, I have a couple of errands to do at some point.  FUN FUN.  And no, I won't push it.  I want to be over this!

  1. I love how you are focusing on the positives instead of dwelling on the negatives. I hope everyone feels better in time for Thanksgiving!

    Have a wonderful week.
